Great YA Books and Authors

  • Tamora pierce - This is one author I found nearly twenty years ago at a moldy old British library in kent - I still enjoy her! From her series about Alanna and Tortall; through wild magic and Alanna's daughter I thoroughly enjoyed her gripping imaginative work - currently I am reading her just released book Beka: Bloodhound in her newest series about Tortall's past and Alanna's Husband's ancestor. I also enjoyed the circle series books by her too although I am finding the endings a little repetitive in this series especially Evvie's book which I thought was not upto her usual detailed books. But I can not recomend her earlier books enough as they are wonderful!
  • Robin McKinley - I have only read some of her books out of which The Blue sword has a special place in my heart!

This is Tamora peirce's list of books

So little time and such a plethora of wonderful word goodies that are such a delight to devour and do not add not one inche to my figure - only my mind!
I wish I were as talented as some of the wonderful authors I read but...... that is another chapter to be looked into later in life for me..

In between rearing two small kids and cooking and cleaning and feeling overwhelmed by all the bad news in between that always almost happen to all of us in life; my one guilty ( well my husband always throws a tantrum! - so I have to actually sneak in a book or two) pleasures is between the pages of a good pageturner..

I am addicted to Young Adult fiction as I am to most adult books too.. I am addicted -really - I have withdrawal symptoms if I do not have a good book to read at least once a week - which gets literly inhaled by me in my haste to read it...I love ,LOVE , LoooOOOOOVE TO READ books.

I find that you get fantastic fiction for young adults and older children that are wasted on most of them(NOT all!!) - pathetic creaturs who only know how to hold a nintendo or a Wii to know action or adventure and do not have enough imagination to blow a candle if you put most of their minds together .. MIND you I only said few not all! so dont come breathing fire around my neck if your sweetie is a bookworm who is no better or worse than I, about books.
